26/07/14 New Club Night for The Running Section. by Mike Halsall

As some of you have been aware I have be approached numerous Runners in the Club about a having a training night. Iv'e been gathering Feedback as to which Night would be best and how often we could meet and after discussing it with the committee, we have decided to have a Club Night on Wednesdays every other week as many of us work different shift patterns, and also it gives an opportunity for some of the track runners to come as well if they wish. It has also been decided that we will meet at a different Venue every Fortnight just to make things Interesting. The Runs will vary in Terrain, from Road or Off-Road and I will be putting a roster up as to the dates and locations on our Facebook Page and the Website, anyone who isn't online I will contact them personally. But for the first 2 weeks I have decided on locations, and iv'e done it to suit all Members who Live in Llanelli an outside Llanelli. I really hope all the Runners support this as I feel it's Important for us to have a Club Night, so that the Club can grow in the future.

So the first Session will be on Wednesday 30th July meet outside Hendy Cricket Club 6pm, leave at 6-15pm, and the second session will be on Wednesday 13th August meet outside the Harry Watkin Pub in Felinfoel 6pm, leave at 6-15pm. The Sessions will be about an hour 6-7 miles possibly 8 depending on Terrain and they will be run at Normal pace, but if some wish to do some strides they are welcome to do so as long as they come back and rejoin the group. There will be 2 groups, one faster group and a slower group. Hope to see you all there. The Roster can be seen via the Link to the Right.  Roster

06/01/14 West Glamorgan Cross Country League Tata Sports Club, Margam 12th January 2014. by Mike Halsall

Next Sunday 12th January is The third fixture in this years West Glamorgan Cross Country League held at Tata Sports Club, Margam, Port Talbot. The Mens team are currently second in Division 2 on points difference and good turnout is needed if we are to consolidate our place. We lost points on the last fixture due to a lack of a 5th Runner. If we are to score high points and if we are to progress we must make sure we have 5 good runners. Also it would be nice to see to a few more Female runners and if anyone is available let me know. There are a few things I need to point out for this fixture.

Firstly this is the most popular race in The West Glam League Calendar and there is always a big turnout.

Secondly the start and finish has now changed because of the new bypass so the Start and finish is approximately 1 mile from headquaters, so you can either jog up or back, or take the car and share as the car park next to to the Lake will be shut after 10.45am.

Thirdly the course is now different and is now 2 Laps of the Neuadd Resevoir approx 5.7 miles on tarmac and is flat and fast course.

Fourthly at registration they are only alllowing the £2 discount if you present your Welsh Athletics registration card, so if anyone hasn't received theirs let me know and I will try and get your number from the Club Registration Officer.

And finally I know a few of you haven't been there before and you will need to arrive early I suggest that we all meet outside the Old Royal Oak Pub in the Bryn at 9.15am so nobody gets lost on the way, because it's easy to miss the turning for the Sports Club if others want to follow us on the way between the Bryn and the motorway let me know, but I will be leaving at 9.15am by The Royal Oak, Bryn.
